ASU SWING DEVILS

The ASU Swing Devils is a newly revived club on campus that strives to unify the student body and Phoenix communities through dance, and the preservation of the Big Band/Swing era.

Social dance has historically been an integral part of American culture, aiding in the development of social interactive skills, and providing a healthy lifestyle for people of all ages. Swing Dance is the only true American folk dance, and needs to be passed on to younger generations so we don’t lose a part of our history.
SwingDevils' Weekly Events

ASU's Fall Semester:

Jan 16th- May 1st!!


THURSDAYS:

What: That Swing Thing!!
When: Beginner Lindy Lesson 7:30-8:30pm
            Social Dance 8:30-10:30pm

FRIDAYS: 

What:  Swing Devils Practice Time
When: 4:00- 5:30pm

No partner required.

All levels welcome!

Must have strong lindy foundation to practice aerials.

 
Swing Devils' Home Dance Floor
Where:

All Swing Devils events take place in the
Student Recreation Complex at
Arizona State University's Main Campus in Tempe, AZ.

We use Small Gym D a.k.a "The Infinity Room", upstairs at the SRC. 
The SRC is located on the N.E. Corner of Apache and Normal Avenues,
between Mill and Rural Avenues.
Across the street from IHOP.

The SRC is in the bottom right hand corner of the map.
 
All spaces in pink are visitor parking
Metered Parking Free after 7PM
Parking Structure $2/hr at all times, not to exceed $8 a day. 
Do not leave your car in the facility past 10pm or you WILL get a ticket..sorry guys!

There's also a park South on Normal where people like to park for free.
The Cost of Being a Swing Devil..
HOW:

STUDENTS:  Only $10 per semester in Sports Club Association dues!
payable to the SRC in person or online at: http://www.asu.edu/studentaffairs/src/sports_clubs/asu_sports_clubs.htm
---click on "Program Registration"

NON-STUDENTS:  $10 dues, plus $50 Semester-long SRC Membership Dues
payable in person at the SRC. 
Be sure to tell them it's for a Swing Devils Rate
& ASU Alumni get even more discounted rate!

SRC Membership gives you full access to the Gym at all times.

The Swing Devils' "That Swing Thing" is back in session with the Spring Semester 2007!

AZSN has been kind enough to donate us this lovely webhome as well as a listserve...so we will no longer be using the yahoo group to send emails.  Thanks Chad!

We're also encouraging more Swing Devils to get involved in the organization of the group!  So if you're interested in helping make us the best Swing Dance club on campus (ok, yea, we're the only one...hehe) then drop us an email.....asuswingdevils@yahoo.com
